Armed with a force diagram proceed to
apply Newton’s Laws for each object in each
independent direction of your coordinate system
Be sure and define your coordinate system clearly:
what directions are + and - etc.
Picking a good coordinate frame can greatly simplify a problem:
inclined plane -> along the incline = x is good
circular motion -> radial vs. tangential rather than x,y
You should always be clear on what you want to
solve for to aid you in your setup!
