QUARTER: Winter 2003

GRADERS: Oskar Halldorsson Holm (104 P/G) and Naum Phleger (410 P/G)

TEXT: Introduction to Electrodynamics, 3rd edition David J. Griffiths. Reading assignments are listed in the syllabus. This quarter we will cover chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4.

HOMEWORK: Homework will be collected on Wednesdays and Fridays. Students are encouraged to discuss the problems with other students in the class, however directly copying solutions is not acceptable. Use of solution sets, either published or copied from previous years, is not acceptable.

MIDTERM EXAMS: Wednesday 29-Jan, and Wednesday 26-Feb. Exams are open note, but closed book. Students should bring a calculator to the exams. All work should be shown explicitly - credit will not be given for the final answer alone.

FINAL EXAM: Saturday 22-Mar-03 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

GRADE DETERMINATION: 33% Homework, 33% Midterms, 33% Final Exam

SOLUTIONS: The solutions to the homework and to the exams will be posted on the class web site and outside the instructor's office.

Lecture Notes: Cebra's lecture notes are posted on the web - there is no guarantee of accuracy or legibility. Note that this is a large file and that it will be updated throughout the quarter.
