The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions, Nuclear Physics Group at the University of California at Davis (UC Davis) has an opening for a postdoctoral research position. The group is an active member of the STAR collaboration at RHIC, and the CMS collaboration at the LHC.

The UC Davis Nuclear Physics Group (Faculty: Manuel Calderon de la Barca, Daniel Cebra, and Ramona Vogt) is interested in exploring heavy-flavor production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We are looking for people to get involved starting from trigger development all the way to data analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to both actively participate in data analysis and to help determine the future direction of the group, with work either in STAR at RHIC or in CMS at the LHC under the supervision of Prof. Manuel Calderón de la Barca Sánchez. A Ph.D. in heavy-ion physics or a related field is required.

The initial appointment will be for one year but is renewable contingent on funding and job performance. Interested candidates should provide a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent to:
