There are different types of energy

Kinetic energy (KE) is “energy of motion”

Potential energy (PE or V) is “energy of position” and is

directly linked to forces and interactions

Thermal energy (Q) is energy associated with the random KE

of a system (Physics 9B)

Chemical energy is associated with energy stored in

chemical bonds (it is a special type of PE)

Rest energy (E0=mc2) is “energy of being” (Physics 9D)

And so on...
