T/F there are no forces acting on the box.
A car moves at 10miles/hr north.
T/F the net force acting on the car is zero.
False! There can be many forces acting on a sitting
object (in this case probably two: earth’s gravity on the
box pulling down and the force of the table on the box pushing up).
It is the zero net force that dictates that the box continues
sitting without changing its motion
True! If something is moving at a constant velocity
the net force must be equal to zero. There can certainly
be forces acting on the object, they just cancel vector-wise
