Many essential features of motion can be
illustrated by considering the motion of
a point in one spatial dimension
A “point in one dimension” is any
object that can be described by one position coordinate.
The position might change in time.
Like an object constrained to move along a line.
The object does not have to literally be a “true mathematical point”,
but we should be able to at least model it as a point
Next week we’ll do 2D and 3D motion
